The best hair conditioner that is solid, so you don't need a single-use plastic bottle.
Hi there. And welcome to Kendishna. Get ready to try a new hair conditioner that not only makes your hair feel soft and silky, but is also solid so you don't need to add yet another plastic bottle to your overflowing recycling bin.
It's one more way you can do your part to protect our oceans.
As it says in our bio above, I started making this conditioner when I started surfing in Bondi Beach. I fell in love with my time interacting with the sea -- just me on a board, bobbing up and down, sometimes even catching a wave. No cell phones, no computers, no stress. Well, except for the occasional bomb that would knock me around a bit :) I'd always loved the water, but I found a new respect for the ocean.
But all of that time in the sun and salt water started taking a toll on my hair. So I started looking for something gentle that would soothe it, something I could take with me to the outdoor beach shower after a surf so that I could put myself together, get my hair under control and get on with my day.
Everything I found came in a small plastic bottle and they were filled with all sorts of crazy ingredients I couldn't pronounce. As I researched conditioner and how it is made, I realized that it didn't need to be that way.
I started mixing up batches of Kendishna right in my kitchen! I put together a couple of formulas I loved -- and that my husband, kids and some trusted friends loved too -- and then I worked to create the right fragrance. I didn't want anything too flowery or strong. Just something light and fresh that reminded me of walking around my Bronte neighborhood when the jasmine and frangipani are in bloom. And now I'd like to give others the chance to try it too.
I hope you love it as much as we do.
And as I move forward, I'm developing other formulas. I'm experimenting with one containing tea tree oil to help prevent nits, mostly for school-aged children like my daughter and their parents who don’t want to have to use harsh chemicals to combat lice.
